More than 2 million pounds of Korean barbecue pork jerky recalled

More than 2 million pounds of ready-to-eat Korean barbecue pork jerky have been recalled because of possible contamination with metal pieces.
The product is sold at Costco and Sam’s Club nationwide. Consumers are told to throw it away or return to where they bought it, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service said Friday.
LSI Inc., of Alpena, S.D.,recalled the Golden Island Korean Barbecue recipe fire-grilled pork jerky. They are sold in 14.5-ounce and 16-ounce plastic pouches.
A list of the specific product lot codes and best-by dates subject to recall is on the agency’s website.
The company had received complaints from consumers who said they found pieces of wiry metal in the product. The pieces were tracked to the conveyor belt used in the production.
No injuries have been confirmed.
The product has a shelf life through Sept. 23, 2026, the agency said.
